About Sculptra
Newport Beach Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Sean Kelishadi, offers Sculptra injections to restore volume and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid dermal filler, which is a synthetic but biodegradable substance that is naturally absorbed by the body. Poly-L-lactic acid has been used for many years and is the main substance that makes up dissolvable stitches. As an FDA-approved dermal filler, Sculptra not only restores volume loss but also helps to stimulate the body's natural production of collagen. The body relies on collagen to provide structure, strength, and elasticity to our skin and other tissues in our bodies. SSK Plastic Surgery in Newport Beach, CA offers a variety of dermal fillers to suit your aesthetic needs and we are happy to discuss if Sculptra is ideal for you.
Sculptra® Reviews
Ideal Candidates
Sculptra is an ideal treatment for you if you have moderate to severe smile lines, marionette lines, chin wrinkles, or volume loss. It is also a great treatment for those who simply desire younger looking skin. Ideal candidates should be in overall good health, have a strong immune system, and not have any skin infections. If you are currently on any prescription drugs or taking anti-inflammatory medication, consult with your doctor prior to receiving Sculptra treatments.
Procedure Technique
Since Sculptra is a minimally invasive procedure, patients will be able to undergo treatment and return home all in the same day. During the procedure, the target area will be cleansed and injection sites will be carefully marked. Sculptra will then be injected in the desired location and massaged for even distribution. A topical anesthetic can be applied to ease your discomfort, but typically there is minimal pain. However, some patients may require several treatments to obtain the results they desire. Treatments are usually spaced 2 weeks apart.
What To Expect
Redness, swelling, tenderness, and minor bruising may occur near or around the injection site. This is very common but should subside within 5 – 7 days. If the symptoms persist, consult with your doctor. Patients may also use a cold compress to ease discomfort. Optimal results will be visible with 4 – 6 weeks and are known to last up to 2 years. Long-lasting results is one of the biggest advantaged Sculptra over other dermal fillers.

youthful skin
Sculptra doesn't just correct volume loss, but increases the overall health of the skin by stimulating the body's natural collagen production. This improves the thickness of the skin and structure, which leads to a younger appearance. Because of its long-lasting results, Sculptra has earned the nickname "liquid facelift." If you want to improve the look of your skin but aren't ready for a surgical facelift, Sculptra can be a great option for you.
