Clitoral Hood Reduction Surgery and Wedge Resection Labiaplasty in Orange County*

This young patient was embarrassed and self-conscious about her large "inner lips," known anatomically as the labia minora. As can be seen in her pre-operative photos, her labia minora extend beyond the boundaries of her "outer lips," the labia majora. This condition not only caused her psychological embarrassment when wearing tight fitting clothing, creating a "camel toe" appearance, but being an active athlete, she also suffered discomfort with with running, bicycling, and other athletic activities. She also felt that reduction of the labia minora size would allow her to have greater ease with hygiene. Furthermore, this patient also had excess clitoral hood tissue.
